How we memorialize our treasures companions who have passed on is a deeply personal decision. We offer a variety of options to help simplify the process and ensure you are able to celebrate the unique life of your beloved friend.
Traditional Cremation
Cremation is the use of heat on remains to expedite the breakdown process. This results in the body being reduced to cremains, also known as “ashes”. We partner with Trusted Journey (formerly Rolling Acres Crematorium) to facilitate this option. We will work with the crematorium to transport your pet and set up your arrangements.
Private Cremation ($295)- this option allows the ashes of your pet to be returned to you in a preselected urn of your choosing, which is included in the cost. When ready, the ashes can be delivered to your regular veterinary office or the crematorium will call you to schedule a convenient time for pickup.
Communal Cremation ($125)- with this option, you will not receive the ashes of your pet back. Trusted Journey Crematorium has partnered with Memorial Reefs International’s Pet Reefs Program which uses pet cremations to help restore the coral reef ecosystems.
Self Directed After Care
You always have the option of handling the aftercare of your pet should you have a specific crematorium, aquamation service, or burial site already selected. Below are some options clients have used for self-directed options in the past.
Heartland Aquamation provides aquamation aftercare services to the Kansas City area.
Wayside Waifs offers pet memorial services including both private and communal cremation, as well as some burial services at their location.
